How far would you go to feel less alone?
Postcards from the Peaks was a nationwide campaign created by Stu Skinner MBE to raise awareness of loneliness and help people feel more connected. Stu carried a 26 kg cast iron Royal Mail postbox to the highest point in all 15 UK National Parks, inviting people to join him, walk together, share their stories and write postcards to people experiencing loneliness.
More than 250 people took part in the walks and nearly 1,000 postcards were sent, turning an unusual challenge into a powerful reminder that none of us should have to face loneliness alone.

Filmed during a time when Stu felt completely lost, as though his compass had disappeared, Postcards from the Peaks is about far more than carrying a postbox up mountains. It is the story of searching for a new bearing, finding a North Star and creating a way forward through depression, heartbreak and uncertainty.
The postbox becomes the catalyst for rediscovering joy, connection and community. Along the way, Stu invites others to walk beside him, share what they are carrying and discover that even when we feel lost, we do not have to find our way alone.
Host a screening
Postcards from the Peaks is available for screenings at events, film festivals, workplaces, conferences, community venues and special gatherings. Screenings can be followed by a live Q&A with Stu Skinner MBE, creating space for honest conversations about loneliness, mental health, resilience and connection.

Together, we've delivered four years of the Head Outside Awards, carried a postbox to the highest point of all 15 UK National Parks, made a film, led walks, talks and workshops, and sent more than 1,000 handwritten postcards to people who needed to know someone was thinking of them.
